What it costs
What actually moves the price
No form to fill in before you are allowed to read it, and no number pretending to be your number.

Every dollar figure here is somebody else's
The ranges on these pages are national averages published by third-party cost guides, attributed to the source and the date it was last updated. They are a sanity check, not a quote. Riverside is not the national average: stucco construction, Climate Zone 10 glazing requirements and Inland Empire labor rates all pull in different directions.
Use them like this
If a quote you receive sits far outside the published national range in either direction, that is not proof of anything. It is a reason to ask what is in it, and a quote that cannot answer that question is the one to worry about.
Three guides
Pick the job you are pricing
Each guide lists the variables in the order they hit the number, then shows a named national benchmark so you have something to anchor against.
Replacement windows
Count, size, material and whether the frame comes out. The single biggest swing on any quote in this market.

The five things that move any quote
-
01
Scope
How many units, how big, and how much of the surrounding wall has to be disturbed. Everything else is a modifier on this.
-
02
Access
Second story, tight side yards, mature landscaping, no driveway. Labor hours, not materials.
-
03
What is behind the finish
Stucco is the Inland Empire defining cost variable. Dry rot, failed flashing and out-of-square openings are found, not quoted.
-
04
Code and permit
Whether the job crosses a Title 24 threshold, and whether your city requires a permit. Both vary, and neither is optional.
-
05
Disposal
Old units, old glass, old frames. Someone pays to haul it and it should be on the quote, not a surprise.
-
Notice what is not on this list: the salesperson's mood, the day of the month, and whether you signed before they left. If a price moves for those reasons, it was never a price.
The number after the number
What changes the net cost in Riverside
The price on the quote is not the whole story. How you pay changes what the job costs you over time, and one thing that used to lower the net cost no longer does.
-
The federal credit
Gone. Section 25C ended for property placed in service after December 31, 2025. Do not let anyone build it into a cost comparison.

Financing
Available. We do not publish rates or monthly figures, because terms depend on the lender and on you. Ask at the estimate and you get them in writing.
